I personally love the challenge of getting dressed for work everyday, to the point where sometimes I find it more enjoyable than dressing on a weekend. Although my office isn’t too corporate these days, and I only work part-time, I still find a thrill in dressing for work! Here’s some tips for styling your perfect work outfit and bringing it into the ‘now’.

  1. Wear (long) culottes – they add a new twist to the standard black pant or skirt. They’re discreetly sexy but office appropriate at the same time.
  2. Choose an oversized shirt which isn’t too slim line or structured – the right shirt can make your look. I personally love an oversized shirt which can double for the weekend. Let your boyfriend blazer add structure.
  3. Add a gold statement necklace. Gold jewellery is so striking, and when you’re in a corporate office you need to play up the details. I love this statement gold collar necklace for that reason.
  4. Make up your own suit. Add two pieces together from different brands – like a jacket from one brand and pants from the other. It will feel fresh and modern – and not so ‘matchy-matchy’. I really love a boyfriend blazer for the non-traditional approach.
  5. Bag a pair of statement heels. There’s nothing quite like putting on those power heels and walking out the door – a good pair of shoes can change your mood to ‘boss-lady’ in an instant!
