5 Of My Favourite Instagram Editing Apps

1. VSCO – This app is a great planning tool. You can see what your pictures looks like in a grid before you post it to Instagram and see whether it fits with the rest of your feed. This is definitely one for the professional Instagrammers! The filters are super slick and easily recognisable with the whole ‘VSCO trend’ movement. The editing tools are also easy to use.

2. Afterlight – I use this app for sharpening an image, setting contrast, brightness etc. I like how it saves out the image high res, and is the last photo that comes up in your photo roll. Makes it less confusing if you’re uploading it instantly.

3. iPhone – Not an app as such, the iPhone actually has great built in filters which should not be overlooked! I personally use ‘FADE’ and it’s the best. I love having a consistent look, it makes your feed recognisable and unique. Find one that works for you and go for it!

4. Snapseed – Owned by Google, Snapseed is not as user friendly as the other apps, but has some awesome filters which some of the bigger bloggers in the USA use. I’ve seen both Happily Grey and Damsel in Dior mention in Instagram replies that they use Snapseed. I’ve dabbled using this with my photos and I definitely loved the result. Have a play and see what you think!

5. Pic Tap Go – This app is a beauty and well worth $2.50 AUD in the app store. It has the best brightening features I’ve seen and one of the filters is actually called ‘Lights On’. A bit weird to use at the start, but once you get used to it you’ll never look back. The double filtering system is also unique to this app! Go filter crazy.
